All corporate businesses must register as a foreign or domestic corporation as a means to gain permission to conduct business on the Navajo Nation. This registration process permits the formation of various corporate entities comprised of individuals, officers, and/ or investors.
Domestic LLC Required Documentation
- Two (2) Application for Articles of Organization.
- $10.00 business check, cashier's check, or money order Payable to the Navajo Nation
Foreign LLC Required Documentation
- Two (2) Application for Registration of Foreign LLC both with original signatures.
- Two (2) copies of your state-certified Articles of Organization, including any amendments from your organized state.
- One (1) Certificate of Good Standing or Certificate of Existence from your organized state.
- $10.00 business check, cashier's check, or money order Payable to the Navajo Nation
Domestic Corporation Required Documentation
You will need to decide under what corporate entity you will organize. Then provide the following:
- Two (2) Application for Incorporating For-Profit, Close Corporation, Non-Profit Corporation, and/or Agricultural Cooperative application(s).
- $10.00 business check, cashier's check, or money order Payable to the Navajo Nation.
Foreign Corporation Required Documentation
- Two (2) Certificate of Authority Applications both with original signatures.
- Two (2) copies of your state-certified Articles of Incorporation, including any amendments from your organized state.
- One (1) Certificate of Good Standing or Certificate of Existence
- $10.00 business check, cashier's check, or money order Payable to the Navajo Nation
Once you are registered with the Navajo Nation, you will need to file an Annual Report; communicate any changes in registered agents or company addresses; and alert the nation of any major company restructuring or significant organizational change through an Amendment process.
